The JFA Institute team works in partnership with federal, state, and local government agencies, and philanthropic foundations to evaluate criminal justice practices and design research-based policy solutions. The Institute is a non-profit agency whose staff has over 30 years experience assisting jurisdictions around the country to implement more effective criminal justice policies. Services range across the spectrum, including prison population simulation modeling and projections, offender risk assessment and classification systems, parole and probation guidelines, special needs programs evaluation (mental health, substance abuse, etc…), and governmental policy analyses. The Institute communicates its findings through reports and other publications. Over the years the Institute has helped states from Florida to Alaska implement new, more effective criminal justice policies and practices.
